For everyone out there who's taking the exam and feeling like you will never pass, please read this book and hear my story. When I started studying for this exam, I had no financial background. I was an English major in college but was intrigued by the stock market. Given that I was not working in portfolio management at the time, this program was the only way for me to make the transition.
Well, I remember when I first told one of my colleagues from work that I planned on taking the exam. His response? "Sara, you're just a marketing girl. This is a hard financial exam. You'll never pass."
But the more that people told me I couldn't do it, the more determined I became to do it.
I remember one Friday night I stayed in the office to study. The heat went off and my fingers went numb. But I was not going to quit.
When I told the people at work that I passed Level One, they didn't believe me and made me call the CFA Institute to verify. It was humiliating.
When I was taking Level 2, I was working at another company. The people at that company actually bet against me passing. But I passed.
So what I'm saying to all of you is this. If I can come from nothing, no financial schooling or even work experience, with the whole world trying to discourage me, and despite all these odds I managed to pass, you can do it, too! I am a CFA ® charterholder and I have practiced investment management for ten years, both working for buy side firms and also as an entrepreneur who created her own firm, Grillo Investment Management. This book is going to explain to you how I progressed in the investment management industry and how you can do it, too. It will cover everything from how to pass the CFA exam to how to get your first job in investment management, and also a little bit of advice about the practice of investing and managing money for other people.

In my honest opinion this book is definitely not worth it. Although I do enjoy the author's youtube channel from time to time, If you believe that this book is worth $29 then you are completely delusional. I would have been willing to pay $5 tops for this book, it doesn't really add any value or provide any new insights that you cannot find online for free.Product details

Preparing for CFA exam is certainly a gruelling experience and having the right material to guide you through it can make it a lot easier. Got this book and I love the tips Sara proffer. It outlines the things you need to know to go through this exam smoothly, it's amazing. If you are preparing for your CFA exam, then grabbing this book is a no-brainer.
after a while of regreting and frustration on why i put myself through an anxious period of registering for the CFA level 1 exam, i found hope in this book. "The pursuit of knowledge is never ever a waste of time." and what more interesting is its easy to read and straight to the point. Thank you Sara Grillo for this insight
This book indeed answered many questions that I had about CFA. The exhaustive list of common mistakes that CFA candidates typically make and advice on how to avoid them was very useful. The book also included other valuable insights about how to enter the investment sector. In short, I enjoyed reading the book and highly recommend the CFA candidates to purchase a copy if they want to get a deeper knowledge.
